Hi! I'm Beth!

I grew up in Maryland and moved to the North Carolina coast for college (what do you think—Pirate or Seahawk?).

I'm a fundraiser, communications and digital marketing professional, community advocate, and dedicated leader committed to strengthening opportunities for children and families. My professional experience includes strategic communications, community engagement, fundraising, and partnership development, which I believe brings a collaborative, practical, and solutions-focused approach to leadership. In other words, I wear a lot of hats!

For more than five years, I've been with Southmountain Children and Family Services, working to advance programs that support the well-being and success of children across North Carolina. Before that, I loved my work as Associate Director of Foothills Conservancy, helping preserve and protect thousands of acres throughout Western North Carolina.

My very first job in Morganton was with the City of Morganton, where I had the privilege of promoting small businesses, events, and everything that makes our downtown special. That's when I truly got to know and love this town and the people who call it home. I've spent my career building relationships among nonprofits, businesses, schools, and community organizations to create positive outcomes, most recently for children and families. Because of that experience, I firmly believe strong schools and strong communities go hand in hand.

As a mother of two, I understand the importance of providing students with safe, supportive learning environments and access to quality educational opportunities. Every child deserves to learn in an environment where they feel secure, valued, and empowered to succeed.

I am 100% committed to supporting students, educators, and families while helping prepare the next generation for success.

My family and I live in Morganton, and I couldn’t be more proud to call Burke County home.
